Hey guys, i have known about this site for a while, but have never really had a reason to come here. Due to the fact that im a two wheeled kind of creature. I recently became interested in 400ex's because they are four stroke look neat, and can get many many aftermarket parts for em. I bought my bike like 3 months ago, and love it. its very fast and have always been on two wheels, and am used to racing them and jumping. i understand that jumping quads is harder because the front end goes straight up. I have ridden my friends stock 2000 300ex a few times and its fun to blast around on. anyway i was wondering what you thought about me getting a 400 in about a year or so. thanks.

Welcome to the site.

Im curious to know what kind of dirtbike your used to be riding? If your used to handling a 250 or even a 125 2-stroke, you might get bored of the power real fast on a 400ex.

If you got the cash, take a look at the TRX450r or YFZ450. That is if you plan on doing more than just trail riding ;) .

i rode both the new yammi and honda 450's this weekend wasnt all that impressed~ the yammi felt small to me and the stock handlebars belong on a utility quad~ im gettin my 400ex motor built up to a 416 soon and suspension before summer is over~

i think you'd be happy with a 400ex especially the price~ mod it out to your speed~ or even stock theyre a great woods quad!

yeah i have a 125 2 stroke, pc platinum head pipe, and v force delta reed cage and reeds. its got around 35-36 horsepower. i dont have the money for a new 450 tho. so the 400ex is tame? I was planning on puttin on a LRD system, and hot cam. holeshot mx's up front and klaws in the rear,k&n filter with outerwares, nerfs, twist throttle, axle, front and rear spacers. prolly shocks over time. and other stuff. i'de like to hear from other people what i should do. I raced a 86 R with paul turner pipes and destroyed him(on the road) only cause i needed to unclog the carb haha, but i think it was patially the rider, and his rears were like 16" if thats possible lol.:p .
