A friend told me the other day that he was told that on the XR400 bike motors, the guys that race enduro and Cross Country on them take the resister out of the plug wire for an increase of 500 RPMs. And that this could be done on the 400 ex also. Simply by removing the resister and replacing it with a solid piece of wire. (coat hanger, etc.)
I'm sceptical about this because the plug wire has nothing to do with the RPMs. This is all controled by the Rev limiter in the CDI. Maybe some one out there has heard this or tryed something similar... :confused:
