Today me, my dad, my sister, and my friend Aaron (Whitebros400ex) went to Treverton PA to ride some trails and try some coal hills. Well, after making it up some tuff ones I got over confident and heres the end result...:( Watching my NEW quad tumble down such a big hill is the worse experience... Im getting this fixed with MX parts and I dont think ill ever try any hard hill climbs EVER AGAIN...:o

Heres a link to a pic of the hill that my quad tumbled down from the TOP! That pics is prob old cause a lot of the top is eroded out now and you have to go into a little tunnel like thing... I took that pib from bansheezone.com

Oh and BTW, I already make it up this hill 3 times... The reason I didnt make is because there is a big lip at the top thats all unlevel from dirtbikes...http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid111/p87ae02e9273f5081dd95e93b8602e333/f910053c.jpg

Like he said i was there, i saw him come up in a wheele i was at the top i chased the quad all the way down the hill almost hand it stopped but i broke my hand trying. I flipped it back over at the end of the hill and i couldnt believe how messed up it was:eek:,
yea hes making it all MX like me 400ex is now. But he is lucky he wasnt hurt it was a huge tumble. It rolled like 15ft then hit the middle of the hill and bounced up about 8ft and went end over end about 8 ft in the air each time.:(

Glad he wasnt hurt, i rolled my quad earler in the day but ill i did was bend my stearing stem back stright and brake my air box nothing big.

Man that sucks. Hills have their disadvantiges, but they are so much fun. Ever since i started climbin the hills in my local pitts i find the trails kind of boring.

Good luck on the repairs, I hope you get it runnin soon.

Hey, looks like my buddy's Z400 axle.
Z400 axle after clipping a KFX400 at full speed (http://users.adelphia.net/~cinnamonlou/pics/bentaxle.jpg)

One of them was riding a 4th gear wheelie and the other came directly at him and they both realized the head-on coming too late.....BAM!!!!!!! Rear wheels clipped and up and over they both went....tumbling across the field. Nobody got seriously hurt...just some bumps and bruises.
The Kawi 400 didn't fare as well. The axle snapped off completely at the sprocket hub. (no pic of it, sorry)

Sorry to hear about your 450R, that hill looks mean. The most important part is, you were not hurt.

mann i woulda been crying like a baby...that is 1 reason i dont hill climb...ill mess with some short hills that i can get up fairly fast...but steep long shyt i do not mess with...ive put too much money into my quad to watch it roll back down a hill...esp a brand new quad...ill take my bike to an mx track, and trail ride it...but i will not mess with any hills beyond my ability i dont care if im feelin lucky enuff to win the lottery

my friend was a victom of the hill climb bang up...he has a 400ex we was ridding during a snowy nite...and he decided he wanted to attempt a steep *** hill climb...he got to the top and the tires started digging and he dug clean thru the snow down into the dirt and caught a root and threw his quad back down the hill..smashed in his front plastics pretty bad, bent his steering stem pretty bad, he had to go and get all new plastics....thats why i dont climb hills

call me a punannay, call me a bytch...but at the end of the day my quad goes home in 1 piece

Coal!

Well I wasnt hurt at all, and it looks as if my frame if perfect too...

The damage from just looking at it is...

Front bumper, grab bar, axle, steering stem, handlebars, rims probably, hood, front plastic, seat,(im gonna get new rear too with that new K&K graphics), clutch cable, hot start cable, lights, ill look more extensivly tonight...

I am setting this up for MX now, no more trails or EXPECIALLY hills for me... No more HRC kit I have more important things to fix...

At the bottom of the hill I was talking to a couple of cool guys, one with an lt250, and one with a Banshee... One guy said that I could get a 400ex stock axle for $40 off ebay.. When I told him it was the new 450r his jaw dropped, literally...

Its great to have a friend like Aaron who actually ran down the hill to try to stop my quad from rolling, probably couldnt have done much but I appriciate it! :macho

Now who can hook me up with an RPM axle??:blah:

man my 450r will never see trails...soon as i get her home imma ride her for a few days arround the house...then im tearin her down for frame powdercoat, aftermarket a-arms, exhaust, axle, shocks, nerfs, bumper, handlebars, hood, tires, wheels, so on and so on....i cant stand stock and my 450r is going to be stricktly for mx....the 400ex will be a trail machine

I don't mean to flame you buddy, but honestly, that is a lame question...and he really doesn't need to hear it right now. If any one of us asked that question to ourselves before we went riding, we would never have any fun...as we'd probably never risk doing anything challenging. Riding is all about going fast, have a blast with your buds, and challenging yourself a little bit each time...maybe a lot each time! He had already made it up that hill several times, obviously it was a blast to do it, and he knew what he was doing was risky. But a little bit of bad luck at the top, and boom he pays a price...but damn does he have a story to tell now.

BTW...hats off to those with extra stock parts offering to help Sportrax10 rebuild his steed. That's what its all about...good people...

This hill is one krazy hill there are climbs all around it and then there are some more. I live for the hill I am there every sunday rain, snow, sleet 0degree weather it doesnt matter. I been goin there for 2 years now and can't get enough. There are about 10 of us that go on sundays. We have all rolled our quads down one of the hills at least once. My only experience was my lt250 I got to the top but couldnt make it over I watched her roll to the bottom. It is krazy how only the handlebars pushed to the tank they didnt even bend and it poped a tire off bead. that was all. Then I watched a freind w/ a 3 day old YFZ get to the top and got too much traction and fliped backwards. Well that one hit hard ,a arms, stem, axle, wheels, bars, plastic, it was bad. But then another freind w/ a yf rolls his about every weekend and it can ussually be fixed pretty easy. ONe time just push bars back up. And another time it just broke the bars. another just needed a tierod. Havent rolled my 450 yet. I wish all you guys could come ride up there and experiencce it. I can't possibly beleive that there is a better riding place anywhere. I havent been able to go for a couple weeks (waiting on parts got, em now) I guess thats why I had to post about the hill. 2 more days!!!
