YFZ 450 Tie Rod Blues

I need help. I would like to know where I can get a good set of STRONG tie rods for my YFZ. Anyone know? I would appriciate it a lot. It already cost me one race this year. Thanks!:confused: :mad: :huh :confused2

why do you want strong tie rods? would you rather replace a 10$ tie or a 4,000$ wrist? I had to learn the hard way. There has to be a weak link in the front end. :cool:

I am installng a set of ChromeMoly tie rods from tusk. FIt and finish is very nice. whle set for 89 bux at rocky mountains.

BTW. the ball ends are stiffer than the stockers. will they wear in or should i force grease down into the booth?

300ex guy. The stock tie rods are very very weak. I do not belive stronger ones will break my wrist. I barely tapped a tree and my day was ended last weekend. Do not want it to happen again. But thanks for all the advice all!!

thats every stock quad for ya....not just yamaha....honda has weak tie rods also.

I went ahead and bought some ASR comoly tie rids with the hemi ends. THanks all I will let you know how they work.

honda tie rods seem to be built ALOT better then yamaha..

The actuall rod threads into he ball joint on the hondas, the yamaha the ball joint threats into the rod, smaller threaded section, easyer to break..

Friend broke his wrist on a yamaha when he cliped a tree just a couple weeks ago, yamaha blaster with stock tie rods..
