I will remember that. I will probably need some new tires by next season, for now the razrs and holeshots are doing just fine:cool:

Klaws are designed for hardpack and Knarly's are designed for medium and soft terrain. I run the Knarly's in all races.

i have klaws and they are great in everything and last twice as long as razrs.they grip almost twice as good too in my opinion. they are tall though, the 20's are really like 21's or so

I have both and love them both. I think the klaws hook better than the Knarly's all around but the Knarly is one tuff *** tire!! :macho

i was wondering how heavy the klaws were. you said they guys said they slide. well i am a hill climber. right now my stock tires radials are like running skins. i need a tire that will grip but also slip alittle. i like to climb things that most people will not go down! i was hoping someone could give their opinion. i have been around the razars and i think i they look pretty good from what i have seen.

I just switched from holeshot MXR's to Klaw MXR's and raced last weekend. I think they slide and hookup better than holeshots, they will last a lot longer, and they are almost half the price. I love them. I didn't weigh them but just by hand there's no huge noticable difference.

ps. I had four practice sessions on friday night and 4 motos (2 clases) on saturday and there was no sign of wear.

Here is the new 21" Knarly XC prototype I've been testing. This is the best tire I have ever run!!!

Nice looking tire. Are they that much different from the other Knarly's? They look a bit like a cross between the Knarly MX and the standard Knarly.

They are taller than the 20" Knarly and have more side bite.

I can bet those are going to be the next hot tire for everyone. These Knarly's are awesome and I've heard nothing but good about the Klaw's also.

what type of terrain is the hills that you climb. alot of the hills that i climb or attempt is pretty hard packed. so i need some slippage. people said they had trouble with the stock radials on a 400EX being to grippy. i have not had that trouble with them. i was thinking about going back to that tire, but i was wanting a six ply tire. the klaws are 6 ply, right.

ok i ride hard pack, mud and sand with holeshots right now. Will i have better luck with the Klaws ? The holeshots seamed to wear kinda of quick.

What would be a good size to get them in??

18's? 20's?

I like to do mx and xc but i didnt know if the 18's would be too small for xc

cdalejef
04-13-2004, 04:21 PM
Yes, 18's are too small and will easily get flats if used for XC.

04-13-2004, 04:25 PM
Ok thats what i was thinking
