OK hear goes. I have a set of +2 a-arms on order I just hope the guy sends them but anyway.
I need ome shock now and was wandering since I only weight like 145 pound and most of the shocks on here are for 180 pound rider. How much diffrence would there be if I got some set for 180 instead of 145-150?
If I buy shocks I won't have any money left to get them revalved so Im stuck with the valving I get.
it's for mx and trail ridding.¸
P.S. any one have any good shocks for sale for a really good price?
Thanks
your shocks arent going to be that great if your looking for mx & a trail riding shock..its two ocmpletely different worlds

yeah but it's mostly for mx. the trail part is mosty really hi speed and jumps in the pits.
I'll be happy with mx style shocks. I just need to know how much off I can be on the weight if any.
i wouldnt go more than 10 lbs.

If you get works they pretty much go 20 pounds either way, so if theyre set up for a 180 pound rider theyre fine for a 160-200 pound rider.

No I won't get works I would like elkas or TCS.
What would the diffrence be? would it just be to stiff?
What about 180 for +1 would that work with 145 and +2?

each plus 1 inch on the arms equals 15lbs of body weight, so say you weigh 150 if you get +2 arms, if you get shocks valved for mx and for 180 on stock arms you will be perfect! if they are for +1 arms and valved for 180 then on plus 2 arms they would be good for 165 lbs. also you should add 10-20lbs to you actual weight because of gear and other crap. so since you weight 145, think of you weight as like 160. even if you find shocks for +2 arms for a 180lbs rider, you will be OK, they arnt going to be much stiffer at all and they are adjustable too. i weight 120 and when i ordered shocks for 120 they were soooo soft so i sent them back and had them set up for 150 and they were alot better. so ya ill stop ramblin on now:devil: i hope i helped
