I don't think anything is WORTH what you have to pay for it,except maybe sex toys! Of course I think everything costs too much because I'm a cheap mother. In all seriousness, the 450R is a pretty awesome machine, with the YFZ the only other one to really compare it too. It really depends on what kind of riding you are planning. If you want a quad for slow trail riding and putting around, there are better choices out there. The 450R is better suited to aggressive sport riding and a good base start for a racer.

i just got mine today and 3 of my friends bought new banshees last week. lets put it this way. any time we ride, they fallow me because thats all they can do. top end wise im only about 3-5 mph faster, but im in 1st gear when they are in 3rd. i beat them off the line and beat them through all gears. i cant wait to put my HRC kit on. now they are gettin t5's just to keep up with me. the only thing i dont like about it is i cant keep the front wheels on the ground. simple shock adjustment should fix that though. these 450r's i think are really going to dominate.:D

I LOVE MINE AND IF ITS TOO FAST FOR THE WOODS THAN PUT A 13T SPROCKET ON FOR ABOUT $20
IM WAITING FOR A 12T FOR $16 JUST FOR KICKS

I HAD A 2003 400EX AND LOVE IT
BUT OTHER THAN HAVING TO KICK START THE 450R I LIKE IT WAY BETTER

EVERYONE THAT HAS RODE MINE GETS OFF WITH A BIG SMILE:D

IF YOU GOT THE MONEY JUST DO IT

Does anyone else see the irony in this statement:

I dont think the 450R is everything that its cracked up to be but i am used to the best quad ever built the TRX250R

Stock for stock the 250R doesn't even compare to the 450R --- if you're comparing a tricked out 250R to a 450R, you're not very sharp.

A tricked out 250R is still hard to beat, but the new breed of 450cc 4 strokes is very good.

lol.....I had someone ask me the same question this weekend, as he sat atop his XC prepped 250R. He started answering his own questions as I listened in amazement to all the aftermarket parts he had on his R. when he was done answering himself, I asked him 2 questions.....

1) Have you ever riden a completely bone stock 250R?

2) Have you ever riden a 450R with comparable mods that your 250R has?

ofcourse the answer was no. i didnt elaborate, I left him staring in wonder:p

my buddy is a hardcore dirt biker. well this past weekend i let him take my 450r for a spin. i figured he would be back in 10 minutes or so. well after almost 40 minutes i hopped on his 2000 yz250 to go look for him to make sure he didn;t crash or something. well i found him after a little bit and guess what, he didn't crash. he just coulnd't stop riding it. now he is trying to decide if he still wants to be a dirt biker. i love my 450.

I'm glad to hear you say that Gabe. One of my bro-n-laws has a stock (except for a Turner pipe) '88 R. I have had many chances to run with him when my 400ex was stock. I've told many people that the biggest difference between the two bikes was the sound of the exhaust. Other than that, they are as even as you can get. Most people would look at me like I had an alien coming out of my forehead and I obviously had no idea what I was talking about. I think that time has added a good deal of mystique to the legend of the 250R, so this "new" R would've had to levitate to impress some people.

YES, YES, and YES!!! I may not be able to say a lot, only since i have owned it since last Thursday (the 22nd), but have ridden it twice and absolutely love it. I am able a month away from getting my HRC (on order) and am ready to mod away. If any of you have any doubts in this machine, DON'T! It is freakin' awesome, and if you think a 400EX is fast, or worth modding, think again:D . This is flat out the best quad i have over ridden (stock for stock) and for that matter owned.

If you ride hard and fast you will love the bike! If you are going to put around and ***** about having to kick start or no reverse buy a z!
