OK well we're were checking out the valve covers we have & check this pic out & tell me what you think about the 2 big holes on the top, one is open(cover w/ rockers I bought from a guy) & on the other one (my stock one) it DOES NOT have the hole. we're curious as to what the hole is for on the one & why it isn't on the stock one??? Can anyone help us :o  http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid110/p4f9ae22d379e341efe76c09bee7b9246/f915eae1.jpg

you must of bought a 250x one because the hole you are talking about is for the decompression lever. That is one of the dif. between the 250 and 300. You will need to go buy yourself a decompressor lever if you want to run that cover

If you have a local machine shop around you could try and take it there and ask them if they could plug up that hole for you, but other than that i think you are stuck buying a decompressor lever for it.

Yes that is a 250x cover, but no big deal, you don't need the actual lever, just plug the hole. I took it out of my x to keep it from messing with the rockers. I don't know what the actual name of the part was, but it worked and was like .35$ at a hard ware store. It even looks better than the stock decompression lever did. Plus if the lever is not hooked up, and yours would not be, it has nothing to hold it in, and on a flat track always turning to the left it would fall out all the time!

The part i used was a rubber plug with a bolt in it that when you tightened it up the rubber part expanded to secure it. If I was at home I would take a quick pic, but am stuck at college until the weekend.

lol, I would take a pic, but it is all piled on my shop bench right now. A week or so ago I broke my durablue axle so I took it apart while I was waiting on an axle. When I put it together I will get some pics. It now has a Black PC frame and the swinger, stem, motor mounts, and pipe are all red I am getting ready to order white fullbore and LSR axle. I hope it looks good when I am done! It has been like 2 weeks and I already miss riding it!:grr:

Here it is after the broken axle.....a big pile!...lol Once I get it together I will put it down on the ground with the hoosiers on it and get ya a pic. I am guessing you would rather see it set up to TT.
