That is when it is off the show room floor, it take about 1.3 qts, without overfilling it. at least from my experiences.

it will take alittle over 2 if you change the oil filter.

Cals right. It will be about 2 quarts with a filter change, gear box and tank drained. As a matter of fact, I usually have to start mine up (and then shut it down :D ) to put the last little bit in. Be sure to let it idle for 5 mins. when you check it. BTW, you check it with the motor shut down, after 5 mins of idling, without screwing the dipstick in.

i forgot to mention that. the tank itself probably won't hold a full two quarts itself. so you will have to put 1.5 or 1.75 quarts in then start it and check in the level in a few minutes. 2 quarts can do it but i usually fill it up to the full line in my bike.

When I do an oil change, I change the filter everytime, and I can get 2 full quarts of mobile 1 in the cooler w/o starting it and letting it suck some oil though to lower the lvl in the cooler. If I can remember right I couldn't get the full 2 quarts in the cooler with the Honda oil w/o starting it.
