I sold my 2001 300ex, and I don't want to commit to the 400ex because of a possible new honda. But I need something for the time being. I am considering buying a mint condition honda atc200x. I always wanted a three wheeler and they don't make them any more so it would be like having a piece of history.

What do you guys know about the 200x? Any info would be helpful. Also is it a 2 or 4 valve engine configuration?

the 200x is a great trike, one of the best ever made,up there with the 350x and atc250r...if the price is right ,BUY IT.plenty of parts still available for that bike too.if i found a nice one with the right price, you can bet that i would buy it.:devil

They are OK. If it really is mint, it's worth buying. Most are just thrashed. I am 95% positive it is a 2 valve engine. Not much power or speed, but it's light and if you are smaller than 160 lbs it should rip. I think the 350x was the best 3 wheeler made, but the 200x is in my top 5.

the 200X was a bullet proof bike. Made first in 1983. The 83-85 models were identical (except graphics). In 1986 honda released an updated 200X with a 6speed tranny, better ergonomics & suspension. The bike was not produced after 1987 or 1988. Good luck finding one in good shape. I owned 3 of them & had lots of fun with them. They were excellent wheelie bikes.

check out http://3wheelerworld.hotsetups.com/ for lots of 3wheeler info.

You can buy lil' pig, she runs like a greased pig. I got a new top end, tires, chain and sprockets and it's fast and fun. Not really for sale, I'm going to give it to my step-son.

Lol...

All this talk about 200x's and old trikes is reminding me of my younger days...

I'll have to go out this afternoon and fire up the 'ole ATC200ES aka "big red" and take it out for a spin :D

I had a shot at an '86? ATC250R that had looked like it's only ride was in the back of a truck home from the dealership, the thing was stock right down to the tires. It literally got ridden once, the guy scared the crap out of himself and parked it in the back of the garage, and there it sat... Still kicking myself on not buying it...

Yeah Leo,
That would have been a sweet ride. Mine is a 82' atc250r and it skits and gits ! The original owner, a doctor in cleveland bought it to hunt with, go figure. Anyway, that was good cause he never abused it except
for laying bloody deer across the back fender. Know wonder I could bottom the back shock out on a 3' high -20' jump. That's why I got the bad 400EX to hit the track with.

I have a 1983 ATC200 That is completly stock from the tires up! Only the oil and spark plug have been changed and it runs fine. I am thinking of putting some money into it this winter. It needs new tires and it could have the engine worked on.
