Muffler repacking?

Does this take away any performance because i now it takes the sound way down, compared to being completely empty of packing:rolleyes:

The heck it don't. YOur ear drums will NOT perform as well as they should if you run no packing. Get your facts straight or dont' post...:grr:

if I am correct, repacking the muffler will increase the performance, right?? Running no packing at all will kill your ears and power.

i'm saying packing your muffler will not hinder performance verses no packing, so other words pack the sucker and quit asking questions :p

I packed it and the sound was cut in half of what it was, it was way loud even when it idled. Now it is quiet when it idles and growls nice with packing. When i took apart, there was about ahandfull of packing left from before, maybe it had been a while:p
