White Plastics -VS- Reality

I have a 400ex ...

I am thinking about ethier white fullbore plastics or silver ...
Ethier one with the new k&k graphics & quad tech hood

I saw a white fullbore quad with those graphics and i liked the way it looked. My big question is how does white hold up ...
Does it scratch and look horrible after only a few rides? ...

Also ... I am torn between fullbore and maier tho ... What do u guys think look better with a quad tech hood? ...

I need some opinions ...

i think maier looks better with a hood...wayyy cheaper too...why buy fullbore when your putting a hood on it and covering the built in scoop thingy...:)

i love white. it can be cleaned with harsher cleaners and doesnt show wear like colored plastic.:)

i like the white, maier quality doesnt even compare to fullbore to me
but on the scratching it depends on the finish, i had a 250x with the blue and white and dirt would get in scratches and not come out but i got a friend with white maier on a raptor and still looks good after a year of harescrambles

when my white got really dirty down in the scratches etc, i would use ajax and a sponge to help get it out of there. try that on red or blue and youll end up with a big white spot!!

i only use simple green on my quads and it takes care of just about everything. but with white i can use more powerful cleaners if needed. and dont be fooled....i ran that 425 in the nastiest mud you could imagine..she always came clean:devil:

hey pappy does white powdercoat get stained from mud?, i think it looks sick on quads but curious to if it will get a brown tint to it or not

anything can get stained....chrome..powdercoat...stainless.

usually a good bath will remove any discolorations. if you leave mud on pc long enough to stain it.....you shouldnt own a quad:devil:

You still need kikked up fer sellin that quad pappy.....:grr:

We run white maier, and it does scratch but you just can't see it as easy as other colors. Ours seemed to stain around the spots where the boots come into contact, side of tank and front edges of rear fenders. We bought some sheets of white number plate backing and covered those places and now it cleans up real easy.

u can get clear vinal and put that wear your boots and pants rub and it wont stain and u can hardly see its there:eek:

with a quad tech carbon hood and tank cover it should look trick ... and like the carbon rad. shrouds and carbon pep shock covers too ...

I have white plastics on my dirtbike, i love them. I still have yet to see something show up on them.

Have you looked into Laker Custom plastic? Their plastics are sweet and you can get pretty much any color you want. The white looks awesome, and cleans up easily with I think it was brake cleaner. Check them out, Laker Custom (http://www,lakercustom.com) They're also a site sponsor.

As for laker ... I saw thier plastics before ... but I honestly dont like them that much ... maybe its just me ... but they dont jump out and say WOW to me ...

pappy had k&k graphics on a white 400 with fullbore i beleive ask him for some pics. i just dont see the point in getting a carbon hood i mean theres no performance gain yea they look nice but fullbore looks great on its own. if you get maier id say go ahead with the carbon hoon it will make it look better but not fullbore. i just dont like things that are for looks and not performance

well thats ur opion bro ... and thats cool ... but a carbon hood would look sick on the fullbores ... IMO

i have white lakers on my 400 and i think it looks sick. Ive gotten a lot of non quad riders always coming up to me wanting to know kind of quad it is and that it looks bad *** too. I get all kinds of attention with my white lakers.

White plastic stays look new the longest due to the fact that it doesn't reflect, black is the worst.

My friend got his black special edition Raptor scratched to hell while driving it home from the dealer (brand new) because the price tag on the handlebars was whipping about in the wind.
