personally, 465 and above is high displacement, id think their engines wouldn't last as long as a 440 or 416. they r all sweet though

both the 416 and the 440 are very goo kits. The 465 and 505 require strokingte engine. That means big bucks! Also, thats gettin pretty big for a air cooled motor. You also forgot the 406 and 425 kits. I wldn't go over 440 tough unless you are looking to drag race all the time. Plus all the othr kis will be big improvements over stock anyways. I think I am going to get a GT Thunder cam soon and install my Lectron carb. It should be pretty fast then!

Just curious, im looking to upgrade my EX motor and looking for a big bore kit, the guy who are suppose to built my motor is only making 440 motor, but finally after long discussion he finally told me that is 440 is in reality the 425 kit?
Correct me if im wrong but that 2 kit are totally different thing!!!

Thank you!

On your poll you skipped the 425. Its just like the 416 bore out the stock sleave, nothing major. I think it provides a very broad power band. I mean i went to it because the next step will be stroking and its the same bore as a storker i liked.

really, a 440 is not a 440 in cc's, its around a 438-439, or around that, jus it sounds better 440, that 438.

While hunting for some a-arms and a swingarm i talked to a company that has a 570 kit in their drag 400EX. He told me all about it. It sounds insane. He said they have to take 2 starters everywhere they go with it!!! Thats crazy!!!!!

TMM built us a 440 stroker, complete - it has been flawless. We also race MX in expert. Went with the 440 to stay in a class we can compete in.:D

I think that I want to get in touch with those guys you talked to...:D There are a ton of different combos...even weird numbers like 472...;) You forgot that one, and 490, and 426....

You also dont have to stroke it to get 465, if you go through sparks anyway...I will tell you one thing, a 472 NEVER stops making power, all the way to the rev limiter, the WB rev limiter, anyway...:D
