As long as they have a helmet, and maybe golves, they should be fine.

I've been riding for over 4 years and never really wore gear except a helmet and gloves.

If I was in an actual race, I would get all the proper gear.

Codeman
04-06-2004, 07:00 PM
Lilman wore my butt out today:p I f i can ride like that at the race on saturday then I think I will have a good shot at being first.

My dad has the quad hooked up! It handles perfect and I can fly thru the woods. The shocks feel great I dont feel much at all now and I can stay on the gas. My dad crosshatched my thumb throttle lever (thanks dad) so now my thumb doesn't slip when I hit rough ground.

The new tires and rims are really working well for me. I can get hooked up in a corner now and power out of it. The wider front end is working awesome.

Let's just hope that I can keep my head on straight and win a few races!

We installed hetrick +2 a arms. its a single arm suspension so there isnt any real adjustment to them. i was concerned but they have been doing fine. no push in the corners and they arent twitchy at top speeds

Way to go Codeman!:macho Lilman is no slouch either the way it looks. Keep up the hard work in school because it makes life so much easier through high school and if for some reason you can't grow up to be a pro on the circuit, you still have something great to fall back on. You gotta reward them, I think it keeps them in line and motivated, my daughter will graduate next year having 4.0 since 1st. grade, my son has had straight A's until he got addicted to some online games and they dropped and momma took away his computer and he straightened right up ,now he is 14 and making gaming maps and selling them and making money early, toy's are nice but grades are where it is at for the future, hell I wish I would've studied more , too late now,but I make a good living being a Journeyman Hi- Voltage Lineman, you 're on the right track Pappy,KUDO's to you for raising them kid's right;) (by the way no fuzz here just gray coming my way)

Whoa there Pappy, I'm just stating my opinion. That's it. You will obviously dress your kids as you wish. They are your kids! California actually has a great deal to offer its people. I've hunted deer, pheasant, quail, duck, caught every type of fish you can imagine, frog gigged, 4 wheeled, ridden motorcycles, snow skiied, you name it, all since the age of four and I started my kids at some of these things at 18 months old. I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers Pappy and I apologize.

ive just had a belly full of people telling others what they can and cant do. ive managed to raise myself..2 brothers and now 2 sons on my own without a government or some governing body telling whats safe and whats not. the cpsc is a hose bag operation that should be dismantled and recharted to be run by non-governmental employee's:macho

i too have seen so much stupidty when related to atv's and kids but all the preaching in the world wont stop it. its nature's way of weeding out the shallow end of the gene pool. it really sucks when ya hear about some 14 year old kid that ran off the road and got killed on an atv...but my take is...WHERE ARE THE PARENTS:confused: as everyone can plainly see i provide supervision to my children an it will continue.

i could agree more with your statements Pappy....I am so sick and tired of people telling me how to raise my kids...and the people that are usually doing the telling are the ones that are not involved in the lives of thier own children...providing they actually have children. I (er....we...have to include my wife!!!) take my kids everywhere with us..camping...fising (i cant fish even)..riding...boating...you name it...

I think it is sad at times to see some of my childrens friends whose parents dont do anything with them....let them play with no supervision....its hard to teach your children the right thing to do when there are so many around him/her doing the wrong thing...but by being involved in thier lives i hope to provide them with all the tools they need in life!!

Good job pappy....i dont even know you and u make me proud..

PS...u mentioned the Kasea...but dont you have e-tons??

haha, that is the funniest thing I have heard all day...15+ "wind." Dude, I live in Kansas, the wind is blowing 15+ every single day. A good breeze for us is around 25+, ya, breeze. It is not wind until it is around 30+:blah:

I have a Suburban and a 8X16 open trailer, been thinking of buying a Cargo, and converting it like this one
stout frame square tube steel frame skeleton
http://www.roadmasterllc.com/campmaster.html
but I don't know it can be done alot cheaper but alot of work
the campmaster is nice but the water holding tanks are aweful low if you climb under them
Looked at the Toy Hauler but it's not too stout frame -wise alum/lumber........would'nt take much for me and the boy...but Momma and the daughter gotta have the luxury stuff...Oh Well

I know this threads been goin on a long time, but i just wanted to say how much it impresses me. I am jealous of your kids and their ability to do it all, i have all the bases covered besides school b/c i only pull B's & C's. It's just so impressive to see a 10 year old with so much abilty. You and your wife sound like awesome parents, and thats what gives you kids the edge... My theory on raising kid's will be just as yours is. One question, when Cody gets older whawhat are you going to do when he wants to go out every night, or have parties???

funny thing, cody told my wife a week or so ago that he will be needing to save for his own car because he doubted he could bring himself to ride with any of the kids he knows simply because he wouldnt trust thier ability to make the right choices or be responsible enough for him to want to ride with them:eek:

he is a good kid, we will cross those bridges when we get there. all you can ever do as a parent is your best and hope and pray that when an issue arises that your child will make the appropriate choice.

my dad allowed me full reign over my life, i did some crazy stuff but i knew where the limit was. i can still hear his words..."ask yourself what i would do in that situation":o seemed corny when he told me that but damn if i didnt hear his voice alot :D
