linkage on a ford probe??

my cousin has a ford probe and the linkage went out and doesnt go into drive. how hard is that to fix and about how much does something like that cost?

are you sure it is the linkage?
is the shifter on the steering column or on the floor?
if its a floor shifter it isnt a problem at all the biggest pain would be maybe pulling the carpet if you have to get to the linkage that way if your not sure how to do it go get a chilton's manual on that car it should be covered in there
