I need to hear your engine run 400ex owners

If anyone has a sound clip of there ex running at idle fully warmed up please post it on here. I need to see if my ex has any abnormal noises like a rod knock. BTW stock ex motors would be preferred.

make sure you adjust rockers. maybe ****ty gas

if its ****ty gas,..it would smoke like a 250r and run like **** whenever you get on it so i dont think its the gas

Jumbo, could you post a sound clip of it fully warmed up like after a hard 10 minute ride. I recorded yours and compared it to mine and mine is most definitely louder, but i think that mine sounds like yours when its not fully warm.

ill go make one now for you..the noise is almost gone now :D

My 400ex had a knock to it when it was stock, i had it fixed it was the crank shaft , wrist pin and it was piston slap, i got fixed and now it knocks sometimes i think the shop ripped me off or something but i cant do anything about it cause its a 416 with a high copression piston, does your have like a knock to it or anything?

Jumbo, that sounds like mine it has alot of lower engine noise, maybe this is normal. Guys, listen to his clip, esp the last few seconds when he gets real close to the motor and listen to what sounds like a slight knocking noise, is that normal, cause mine does it too fully warmed up. I rode it today and it seems to have alot of vibration when you are going thru the rpms as to where my xr 400 is super smooth on the power delivery and theyre basically the same engine.

My 400 has the same tick/nock even when its warm apparently so i've been told its regular, same with the heavy vibration when on heavy accels.
