would it be hard to put a 300ex motor into a 400ex frame? im thinking bout doing this in the winter so i can race the air cooled class next yr so idont have to spend more money on a quad... HELP!!

No it wouldn't be very hard. I've seen and heard of people doin this a-lot.

would ui have to move frame brakets and stuff...what about the headpipe?? has anybody done this conversion before???

I would do a Blaster motor if anything. More bang for your buck in that class..

I think he means the "300 aircooled" class. It allows under 350cc 4 strokes, and under 240cc 2 strokes that are air cooled. Unlike the 400 (or 250, or 4 stroke) class, there isn't the 16yr old age restriction.

I sugest the 300ex engine. There is less aftermarket stuff for them than blasters, but overall i think its a much better engine. Also with the blaster engine you mught have a problem with the kickstarter hitting the frame, or somthing else.

get a 300ex motor...its gonna be hard no doubt..but i think u can do it..just have ur mechanic help u or sumthing...and yea ur gonna hev to cut off alot of brackets and make new ones for the motor but i dont think it will be alot diffrent between the motor mounts

Not everyone has a mechanic! This is just an idea, but you might look into using a 350x motor. They will out perform the 300ex and still fit in the class. I know for a fact the 350x motor 250r frame in a very good set up, so I would see no reason it would not work in the 400ex frame.

he cant run a 350 motor...its limited to 91-300 air cooled...and he does have a mechanic cuz he told me...and plus i run the same class..and i agree a 350 motor will do really good in a 250r frame..i have that setup but wit a 300ex motor..and travis let us knw wat ur gonna do

yea.. im prob gonna do the 300ex.. im gonna do the conversion...or just buy a damn 300ex
