OT Streetbikes

With the cost of gas going up, and my commute being what it is. I'm toying with the idea of getting a streetbike to get back and fourth to work during the dry months. Not only would I enjoy the benifits of using 1/4 the amount of gas. But I would also get to use the carpool lanes:D

Thinking of either a Vulcan 800 or a Shadow A.C.E. 750
Anyone have an objective opinion on either of these?

And just to make it a more interesting thread..... which do you prefer, cruisers or sportbikes? And why?

Got nothin' to do with age. It's whatever you're into. You wanna smell the roses and take in the view, and have a smooth, cushy ride? Get a cruiser. But if you ride the highways to tame the highways, and relly get into the whole acceleration/ handling thang like me and the rest of my old coot friends, get a sportbike. I'll personally never own a cruiser probably.
