It's kinda hard to say w/o putting on a dyno (which I have never done) But, seat of the pants feel I would say it picks up *several* hp when properly rejetted. My Drag 440ex dropped about .4 secs off 1/8 mile e/t with an identical head.

I will be doing a 426 11to1 with a hotcams stage 2. I think I will start on it this week.

Seven--You doing the .120 over on the stock sleeve? A couple guys have had the stock sleeve crack at that bore. The 426 on stock sleeve is a good bit thinner than a 440 bore on Advanced sleeve. Good luck--I ran the Hotcam Stage II on my Drag 440 and it was unbeaten at the strip.

Yes it will be on the stock sleeve. I figured if it went out I would go to a 440. I probably should have stayed with a 416 but I got to ride a 426 and I really liked the power gains.

My 426 on stock sleeve ripped with stage 2 cam. I Downshifted from 5th to 4th when I shouldnt have and it threw the rod, cracked the cases, blew a whole in it, cracked the sleeve. The only thing that was good still were the heads, cam, valves and a few other things.

I receive the head today and everything looks great! I installed it but I have not had a chance to ride it other then up the road and back. I have a 178 main with a 42 pilot right now but I think I will end up with a 175. I have a stage 2 cam, 426 11to1 piston, big gun exhaust with no airbox lid. I am at 2400 feet.I should be able to ride it tomorow!

I got to ride it today and it rips. I went with a wiseco 426 11to1 piston stage 2 cam removed the choke with a big gun shorty exhaust. I uswd the xr400 gaskets to get it closer to 11to1. I also installed a white brothers rev box to. It starts with ease now. The first thing I noticed was the bottom end. It really picked up the bottom end. Any gear it will stand up.. Its a wheelie machine even with a 14 tooth front sprocket. Most of the power is made in the mid to higher revs. Just when you think its going to die off it keeps pulling even harder. I would say its almost like riding a 2 stroke but with a ton of bottom end. I am very pleased with the port job and mikeboone. I would highly recomend buying these heads from him. And no he isnt cutting me any deal for saying that they just work good!! I ended up with a 175 main and a 42 pilot at 2400ft.

a 14t will get you more bottom - you need to move up to at least a 15t maybe a 16t with your motor and mods. you may want to do a 15t and a smaller rear sprocket!

I too have a Mike Boone ported headed waiting to be installed, it definitely looks nice and for the price I don't think you'll be able to be the bang for the buck.

Hey seven get yourself a fcr carb and then check out the power, what are you doing for an airbox?

I will be getting a new carb this summer. The air box is stock with the lid taken off and a K&N. I am going to get a aluminum air box with the batery located on the inside. I just like the way it looks a lot better. Also I have thought about taper boring my stock carb. We have a guy locally that will do it for 40$. I dont know about going to a 15 front sprocket. I like my bottom end. Also I mostly run on the mx track so I am not all that concerned with top speed. But I may pic up a 13 and a 15 just to have on hand. I run 18s in the rear so a 15 might not be that bad. I have only got to ride it for 30 min or so. I am still breaking it in.
