quick Help on MX tires

Hey,

I am looking for rear MX tires (18"), and i know alot of companys put out great products. but i have tryed Tamers, and POSITIVELY hate them with a pastion. i was wondering if any companys make a MX tire in 4ply, or somthing heavyer then 2ply i know that they are heavyer but i need somthing that offers more support then just 2 ply.

Any comments or Advise will be greatly appreciated.

maxxis razrs are 4-ply. can't remember if they come in 18's... :confused:

Alot of people like the klaws and holeshots for mx.

They make razr mx I can't remember but I think they are 2 ply

ya i grooved the Tamers

Razr Mx = 2ply
Wholeshot MX = 2ply

i dont know about klaws?

But i have Razr MX up front ill just settle with razr Mx rears

I love my Razr MX rears. They are a tough MX tire. I too do not get along very well with Tamers.

what is wroung with tamers? i just am geting a set of 18x9.5x8 tommorow, that is when they said they would be in, i got them for 16.50 each, i am just going to try em out and if i dont like em i will sell them.

there just cheap, and i dont really care forem. THey ware weird and dont grip that well

i love my holeshot/tamer combo.works well for me.i will agree that on very hard packed stuff they dont hook that great.i only run the 11 in wide ones and dont care about the 9.5's

where did you find tamers for 16.50 each.we are a dealer for them and cant get them that cheap.

i run rear 18in tamers and they hook up pretty well for me, could be alittle better in the hard pack but its fine...strenght on the other hand sucks, i dont ride woods with them but i guess there strictly mx only because riding through the open dirt trails once and awhile beats them up. i am going with the 4ply klaws next..front and rear im looking forward to it:)

ya, I am going to try Razr allaround.......i just got my Front Razr MX on douglas .190 yesterday very good handling characteristics. i am just waitin on my 18" rears.

i got em form the local auto parts chain store, they are trying to get rid of all there atv tires in stock, they dont want to cary them any more. The store is V.I.P. it is only in new england.

I have the Knarly 20" tires and they hook up but still slide very well. I think they are very good for motocross. Since you are looking for an 18" tire Kenda just came out with there Knarly MX which looks like it will be a good mx tire. If I was getting another set I would have to stick with the Knarly's.

honda has awsome stock tires.. i have turf tamers.. they will work best with the right track conditions and wiht the right tread pattern..
