any one EVer see or put a 400ex motor n a 250R

My friend is in the process of getting a 400ex motor>He has a 250R frame with Highly modified frame accories,but he dont want to selll of it...He wants to see if he can drop the 400ex motor into his 1987 Trx 250R frame,has any one see it done or no what u have to do,

well i know of a guy that races a 330r engine in his modified 400ex. he's from south dakota and was on the cover of dirt wheels mag for it. so it has to be at least possible.

That was Adam Sick. If I remeber the article right he could swap his R motor for a YZF 400 in the same frame. I am almost positive it was a 400ex frame because the frame came from 5 Season's Motorsports in Cedar Rapids Ia. One of the guys that I ride with helped him with it.

yes it was a 400ex frame.
The 400 frame will not fit into a 250r chasis because of the overhead cam and valves or else honda would of put it in right away. the r engine is a lot smaller than the 400 engine
You could probably get it to work with some mods. i have never tried but it is worth looking and seeing if it does
