400ex, 250r , and crf 450 all in 1 ?

if i buy a stock 400ex frame will i be able to take everything off of my 86 250r besides the motor and put it on that frame and then put the crf450 motor in it? if not can u name the things that are differnt that wont fit on the 400ex from the 250r.

would the rear out of a 86 250r trike fit on a 400ex frame..the rear swing arm shock etc? if not how about the rear of a 86 250r quad...i believe they r the same but not positive. thanks

very little if any will fit besides the rims. contrary to popular believe the R and ex frames aren't that similar. the motor mounts are definatley different too.

i'm really wondering why you wouldn't just buy a TRX450R, unless you have all that stuff sittin around.?

so the a arms would not fit?...and would the rear of my 86 250r fit a 400ex? the swingarm and shock? thanks

the only part of the 250r rear that will work with the 400ex is the axle, and u must use 250r hubs with it

the front a-arms are fine if you use spacers or maybe its if you file them down alittle bit one way or the other. the mounts are wider on the 400 or smaller cant remember which one it is. the rear end will not fit. the plastic you can get to fit. thats about all

Why don't you just throw a CRF motor in your R?:confused:

i was thinking of doing it myself but the r top frame rails are too low the r motor only has a few inches to spare and it doesnt haves valves or a cam or any of that

Im a die hard honda guy and i feel the 450r is junk.Ive heard of nothing but bad things about it.Besides who would want to buy one and then have to put 5 or 6k into it.Just build what you want.Im doing the same crf buildup
