well i went to the dealer and picked up a cr kill switch to put on. i installed it as the directions said to in a tech article on z400central. i push the button and nothing happens:rolleyes: there is a green wire with like a hole for a screw on it also that i dont know where it goes, i think it is a ground wire. what do i have to do with that? is that my problem?

pretty sure you are correct with the green wire being a ground and yes it needs to be hooked up.

also, wrap a pice of black electrical tape around the bars then mount the kill switch over it.

the ground should be mounted to a good area on the frame. the bars may work but isnt always reliable. i usually make the ground wire snake down and mount to the stem bracket

If everything is wired correctly and it isnt grounded then by all means it should work

double check the connections, and re- read the info at the other site. its more then likely a wire hooked up incorrectly.

off the main page it will say tech on the right and 400ex 1 button starter click there

shows you how to do it the right way w/ out cutting any wires
