What size sprokets are on the 400ex. Also if i go down one tooth in the front will i see a big difference. I want to be able to have more low end. Also how much top speed will i lose. Thanks.

14 in the front makes it feel like it has a ton more bottom end. the top end loss is noticable but its a fair trade off if you ride tight trails

Stock is 15t and 38t. The setup i currently have is 14t and 37t the 14t will give you a substantial low end gain and the 37 helps give you some of the top end back that you lose with the 14t front.

I run a 14t front sprocket and love my top end. I don't worry about losing top end because if I feel like riding something with top speed I take the banshee out for a spin.

If you go down a tooth you will notice a huge difference in low end. You will lose quite a bit in top end speed, but if you like to ride tight trails or just ride wheelies a lot, it's a great choice.

Well i went ahead and put on the 14 tooth front sprocket i love it i cant notice a top end decrease but the low end is awesome. it is really easy to pull it up and great trail riding.

Now get a nice low-end pipe and you'll really notice a difference in power. I have a Big Gun slip-on that gives great low end power, I can pop awesome wheelies sitting down.

Yeah, I'd second that^. My gearing now is 20in rears, 36tooth rear sprocket, 15 tooth front. Seems to work great other than the fact its hard to wheelie in 3rd because I have 20 inch fronts. Cant wait for my 18 inch rears, they should be at my place today. I'll tell you guys how that works out when I get em on, I'll be leaving the gearing I have on now.-darren

Yea yours is a little hard to pop a wheelie without any effort like mine is. I actually have to try on yours:eek2: . Lol, hey what tires did you order?? I remember you talking to me about getting 18" or 20" but you never told me you actually bought new tires. Remember, you're coming out to my place on May 14th-May16th.

I love my 18 tires. The handle very well compared to bigger tires.

I run a 13T in front, stock 38T on rear with 21" sharks on the rear. We do alot of trail riding and crawling over logs and digging through ditches and it still has good top end for what I need it for. It's really where you ride. The only problem I have is I keep breaking the 13T spocket I quess to much torque. Climbing hills in 2nd and 3rd pretty confident
