top speeds????

hey guys does any1 know the top speed on a stock 400ex?

Aslo whats the top speed for a 300ex with k&n i have a friends that said he was driving infront of 1 of our other friends in his truck and the truck was doin 65 and he was infront of the truck by a lot.......... i told him hes full of **** but ihm and hte kid in the truck sware to it:confused:

But i had a trial tech speedometer and it was acurate, i had my 400ex MAXXED down a hill bouncing off the rev limiter at 72.8mph some may call me stupid but thats what i got. and my guess on a 300ex is 48mph?

dude a 300ex is a lot faster than 48mph
a 250ex will go 48mph
i would guess around 55 mph

75 is al il high for an ALL stock 400ex i tihkn maybe 75 with hmf slip on and corectly jetted ..witch i will have shortly

Modifying your engine in any way isn't going to give you more speed (unless you up the rev limiter). The only way to change speed is sprockets and tire size. I would be surprised if a stock 400 did more than 65MPH..

Actually modifications can up your speed, b/c you have more power to pull your gearing. Example, my built 440ex (about 50-60hp) vs. a fairly stock 400 (k&n filter, no lid, sparks pipe) Both are running 20 inch tires and 16/38 gearing, neither had rev boxes, the more stock one according to gps was doing 76.7, and my 440 was doing 85.3, almost 9 full mph just from mods. Just thought i would share that

on a stock 400 the top speed i have most frequently seen is 68mph
