n-e one put 400ex motor in 250R frame

My friend is in the process of getting a 400ex motor>He has a 250R frame with Highly modified frame accories,but he dont want to selll of it...He wants to see if he can drop the 400ex motor into his 1987 Trx 250R frame,has any one see it done or no what u have to do,

ive seen it done before, i dont know where. but im sure it can be done.

It should work because the 400ex frame is the same design as the 250r frame , just with round tubes. Your definetly going to have to make up some motor mounts and maybe a custon exhaust. You might also have to do a little experimenting with the air boot from the carb to the air box.
Its not going to handle like a stock 400ex because the 250r has a longer swingarm which will make it spin more and wheelie less.
If i remember correctly the 88-89 250rs were slighly shorter than the 86-87 models.
