Neutral Light not working

I recently bought a 400ex and when it's in neutral the neutral light doesn't come on, also the only way to start it is with the clutch lever pulled in. Any ideas on what to check for? Thanks

On the bottom left side of the quad engine you'll see a lil black wire that goes into the bottom of the motor. Check to see if that wire came unpluged. Hope it's as simple as that.

mine does that to.. but i just wiggle around my shifter or my quad itself and itll come on..
