450r vs. raptor

i have read so many times about a stock 450r taking a stock raptor....TOTALLY FALSE. my 450r does hold a pretty good drag but not close to a raptor. i dragged my buddys raptor and we were pretty close until third gear...then he just took off. i think this is totally false unless you other guys are lying. anyone want to tell me what they think of the hrc kit. Is there a significant power increase or should i not waste my time. BTW i love my 450r...ride red

Considering a yfz will take a raptor, and the trx is very close with the yfz I don't see how a trx couldn't be extremely close or beat a raptor.

Is your buddies piped?

A stock raptor only has like 35 hp, my 416 could take stock raptors, i would surely hope a 450 could beat my 416.....

Yes a 450r will beat a stock raptor with equal riders.

idk he is a guy that like to keep his things quiet and "look" stock. like his banshee thatr looks stock but is really not. so maybe he is not telling me something. but it wasnt a complete smoking....lol...i also hear that the 450r takes a yfz in a drag race. and i can take a 416ex. already have. idk maybe his raptor isnt stock, ill ask him.

I just don't see a raptor beating a 450r. I raced a raptor with a full system yosi about two weeks ago with my 440 and it was not even close. Im not saying the raptor is slow I just didn't think it was fast enough to beat a 450r. If your just drag racing a 300ft drag than I could see the raptor win now and then but when we raced it was full out 5th gear pinned.:cool:

I will say this, some motors will run stronger than others, but for the most of the stock raptors/450rs/yfzs, the raptor is going to be slower in a 300ft drag. I had a raptor and I have a yfz. I can take raptors and banshees off the line that I couldn't with my raptor, and I weigh 220lbs.

i dont see the trx out running the yfz part, i weight a svelt 220lb's and out ran a 450r by 2 bike lenghts sunday... my cousin races his stock yfz vs. a stock 450r both close in weights and it wasnt as close as i have read it should have been. BTW my cousin isnt the greatest rider or drag racer in the world either.

I CAN'T BEAT A YFZ IN A DRAG RACE EITHER. BOTH MACHINES COMPLETELY STOCK. HOWEVER, THE YFZ IS EASIER TO DRAG, I THINK, CAUSE YOU DON'T NEED TO CLUTCH IT AS MUCH. MY BUDDY WAS TAKIN OFF IN SECOND GEAR ON HIS YFZ I COULDN'T DO THAT IT WAS WAAAAAAYY TO MUCH CLUTCH WORK. I WAS FAST TAKIN OFF IN FIRST GEAR AND HE WOULD STILL WIN. NOT BY MUCH THOUGH.

When I had my 400EX I couldn't keep up with my buddies Raptor in the straights but toss in a few turns and I would leave him behind.

yea ive raced a few raptors. to. stock for stock, the 450r, will win through every gear, and only when they top out will the raptor, slowy and i mean slowy, like 1 or 2 mph, walk by. it kinda upset me when the raptor beat me but we raced a few more times and it made me happy when i could eat him alive through every gear.:blah:

at the dunes with paddles i beat raptors and yfz's, but i have the HRC kit and i think the yfz's were stock. maybe it was the riders, maybe it was something else, but i was the fastest 4 stroke racing.

i think the hrc kit is good. but if you would get it. get a pipe also for it. there is a huge difference when you put a pipe and the hrc kit in it.
