Which of these quads would be the most competitive in an mx race? I have a z400 now, but am looking at a moto440.

There is a nice 2001 440ex with a Tom Miller Motorsports engine, sparks exhaust, RPM swingarn and axle, TMM A-arms, rear shamrock beadlocks, tag bars, and axis shocks for $5200. Is this a good deal?

What should I do, fix the Z up, get a moto, or the 440ex? Thanks

For mx, I think the 440EX would do the trick!;) With all it comes with, sounds like a decent price to me!

moto without a doubt.

LMFAO, i wouldn't pay 5200 for an ex even if the frame was decorated with diamonds. their value has dropped ALOT lately and thats way overpriced :(

I think you took it a little too far. Diamonds in the frame hell yeah I would take it. Dosn't sound like too bad of a price to me, but I am biased because I have a 400ex. I would try and talk him down a couple hundred dollars.

Just run what u have and buy some goodies...The z400 works great for mx...Just gusset the frame and get some shocks a arms and swingarm...maybe a high comp piston and a cam or 2

Depends on a few things. If your Z440 has no suspension upgrades, the moto440 is going to be much better. If your Z has the right components, I say stick with it. The moto is a great quad as far as out of the box racer, but I would be leary of buying a Dale right now. With the compnay in limbo and the fact that they aren't the most reliable machines ever made would make me think twice. (of course, a lot of reliability issues could be prevented with proper maintenace)

If you have a nice 440 motor in your Z and all you need to do is add suspension and arms/swingarm, I think you will be better off keeping what you have.

i would fix the Z and get the 400ex, but its your money do what you wan't if youa sk me i would fix the Z if i had limited $$

I agree with Scottie, if you have already started on the Z stick with it. Suspension will hit you pretty hard if you haven't already got arms, shocks, and axles. If you lack that, then the Moto is definately the way to go. Plus dales are going really cheap right now too so I would say Moto unless you're already into the Z.
