Well I've got my head off to get out the bolt that broke during my XR400 cam install. Since I had to take off the head I'm thinking I might as well go with a new piston and get it bored over a little.

What's the best piston, Wiseco or JE??

Cant I just get a .40 or .80 over piston, rings and gaskets?

What's with all the 416 kits??

Who should I order the stuff from?? I know Marcums, but who else is good as well??

Thanks!!

I would go with 11.75 407 from GT thunderGT Thunder pistons (http://www.geocities.com/gtthunder.geo/cat15set.html)
This will leave room to bore later if you want or NEED to.
I speak from experience.
All the kit does is to add gaskets.

Go with the JE piston Wiesco makes them they are just better than wiesco. JE pistons are the offical piston of choice used by TC racing.

I believe GT Thunder uses wiseco pistons

Is JE and wiseco the same company?

I'm not sure if they use JE or Wiseco, but most custom pistons are JE, and believe most of GT's pistons are custom made.
