I have a 250r ( can see details under "Fully built 250r" in the for sale forum) that I'm wanting to sell. A guy is wanting to trade an '03 cannondale speed (practically new). I can't decide what to do. I can get a z-400 for cost, but I have to sell the 250R first.
I am stuck. What do ya'll think?

I'd take that Cannondale faster than Rick James in a Cadillac!

Forget the Z! :eek2:

what kind of trade should I do?
check out the R details and let me know.
THANKS

If he'll trade straight across, just pass off that R and take the Speed. 1 for 1.

You'd be FAR happier with the Cannondale than a Z400.. the Z400 is barely better than a 400EX.

Tis' a no brainer! :)

Try bartering and see if he'll give you money with the trade too.

What he said is :

"I would definitely take a trade for a Cannondale before I'd sell it (the 250R) and buy a new Z. The Cannondale will crap all over (defeat) a Z400 and Z400 frames suck."

what is the value of the speed.
He says it only has one hour on it.
Has four of 'em and just want's a 2 stroke.
there's close to 14 g's in the R

14g's yikes..

see the sad thing is mods don't hold a lot of their value.

however, I am not the person to ask in this case. I didn't realize the actual cash you've put into the R.

the Speed is not worth NEAR 14 g's so you should probably ask a specialist on this site.

I'm only trying to get $6500 for the R
the motor is almost brand new. all internals were replaced with aftermarket

ask him for a grand along with the trade. if he says no, then work your way down. but with the grand dont act like your ready to be pushed over. sounds like a good idea to me if you want to get another 4 stroke!

I kinda thought the resale value of the R was a little higher myself, but I can't find any blue book prices on the speed

he said he would bring it to me, don't know exactly how far that is, but it seems like a clean quad. he said he would have the stud update kit put in if we make a trade

03-30-2004, 04:04 PM
I don't know. If your financial situation is really fresh than go straight across. But don't lose a solid G if you can't afford to. Really.

Trade and get a grand with the quad, unless you're really well off.
