Daytona, Florida (3/13/2015) - Motorsports / Baldwin’s John Natalie Jr made history at the Daytona International Speedway by winning the first ever Fly Racing ATV Supercross Championship, which is just the latest of his many career accomplishments.

There have been many changes for the Ironman. John Natalie Jr, since last season ended including a new addition to his family and a completely new program with Baldwin Motorsports. We were able to catch up with John Natalie Jr in Daytona shortly after his amazing win and share in some of his excitement for the 2015 ATV motocross season.

ATVRiders.com: John, you had a huge win here today in Daytona for the first ever ATV Supercross. Congratulations!
John Natalie Jr: I knew that getting a holeshot was key here, and I knew Mark Baldwin had things going good, and we just yanked it. I think I was even asleep on the gate and that motor just pulled me right out front. It made my job a lot easier getting out front like that. All those guys had to fight with each other and get through my dirt, and I had a clear track.

ATVRiders.com: You ran into a bit of lap traffic at the end; did that cause any issues for you?
John Natalie Jr: I kind of had to slow down a bit because you didn’t know what line they were going to take, so I wouldn’t get stuck behind them.

ATVRiders.com: What did you think of the Daytona ATV SX track?
John Natalie Jr: I though the track was great. I hope they see the talent we have with ATV racing now and they will step the track up a little bit more for next year, which I believe they will.

ATVRiders.com: You have a new program this year with Baldwin Motorsports, and now a great finish like this. How important is that to you?
John Natalie Jr: It’s incredibly important. When you have a mechanic like Mark Baldwin, things just don’t break. He is amazing. In between heats today he went through every bolt on the quad, so I don’t foresee us having any issues so it makes my job easier because all I have to do is concentrate on training and staying in shape and he is going to make sure the quads are going to finish the races.

ATVRiders.com: You also have a new addition to your family. Congrats on that.
John Natalie Jr: Yeah, it’s great. Stassi was my gift, so now my gift to her was winning the first ATV Supercross. It has been a great week; tomorrow is Lexus’s birthday, getting to spend the week at Daytona, go to the beach and see bike week and now winning the Supercross. I am so excited and so stoked I don’t think I will be able to sleep tonight!

ATVRiders.com: You got to spend the winter down in Texas with the Ford family. How important was that for you?
John Natalie Jr: it was very important. I have to give a big thank you to Robin and Jon and of course Ford Brothers Racing, Cody and Bryce. It saved us a ton of money being able to stay down at his house and use the race track at his house. He doesn’t spare any expense on keeping it up. I also want to thank everyone that is helping us out.
