Greenville,
TX (2/13/2011) – Can-Am’s
Hunter Miller put in an exceptional effort in
the 2010 season, after claiming the Open Expert
and Pro-am championships in the growing TQRA series
and the pro championship in the TORN series, which
he plans to defend in 2011. With
numerous wins in both events, Hunter Miller
quickly established himself as the man to beat
in Texas. For 2011, Miller will be competing
in about 20 races between the two racing series,
and he will have his work cut out for him in
order to defend his championships.
We
recently had the opportunity to talk with the
Texas native about the upcoming season, his
outlook on the increased competition in the
TQRA series for 2011, which will include his
younger brother, Cody Miller, the 2010 NEATV-MX
Pro Champion
ATVRiders.com: Last year you won three
championships. You must be pretty happy about
that?
Hunter Miller:
Definitely! I won both the Open Expert and Pro-am
championships in the TQRA series and I won the
pro championship in the TORN series.

ATVRiders.com:
For those that aren’t familiar with those
series’, can you explain a little bit
about them and what’s the difference in
the two series’?
Hunter Miller:
The TQRA is a motocross series put on by the
Texas Quad Racing Association and the TORN (Texas
Off-Road Nationals) series is more desert/cross
country style racing.
ATVRiders.com:
What made you decide to run both the TORN
& TQRA
series?
Hunter Miller:
I’ve always done a little bit of cross
country racing and the TORN series, which is
a really big bike series, recently started including
quads and they have put a lot into having the
quads there. I also wanted to be racing as much
as possible because it is good for me and for
Can-Am, and the TORN series is a really up and
coming series, so it all just kind of came together.
We are hoping that the TORN and TQRA series’
will become kind of like WORCS and the QuadX
series’ on the west coast where most of
the riders race in both series’ to help
make the events bigger and more competitive.
ATVRiders.com:
Is it difficult to have to maintain two separate
set-ups through the season?
Hunter Miller:
It’s not that bad. Can-Am gives me everything
I need to have a couple of quads set up for
both motocross and cross-country.

ATVRiders.com:
What’s the difference in your set-ups?
Hunter Miller:
It’s just basic differences. My Motocross
set-up is wider and has a little more power
while my cross-country set-up is at 47 inches
wide, with softer suspension and bigger tires.
The engine is also primarily stock in my XC
set-up.

You’ve also associated yourself with a
local dealership. Can you tell us a little bit
about that?
Hunter Miller:
Louis Powersports is our local dealership. My
deal is directly through Can-Am, but I needed
to align myself with a dealership so that when
someone asks me where they can get a Can-Am,
I have somewhere to direct them. It’s
a pretty cool thing because Louis Powersports
is really into racing.
