Borich down in Florida while he was preparing
for the 2015 GNCC racing season and had the
opportunity to watch Chris Borich training
on his new 2015 Yamaha YFZ450R and talk with
him about his new ride with Yamaha.
ATVriders.com:
You finished out the 2014 GNCC Racing season
with incredible race to secure your sixth
straight GNCC Pro XC1 ATV Championship
Chris Borich: Yes. It was a good race. We went in tied in points and had a hard fought battle but came out with the win and the championship.

ATVriders.com: So now you are going into the 2015 GNCC Racing season on a new ride. How excited are you to be with Yamaha this year?
Chris Borich: It’s a fresh start for us. I’m looking forward to it. We have been doing a lot of testing with Yamaha and were finally able to work out a deal with them. I’m pretty pumped to be on a new machine. We had great success with Suzuki, but they aren’t putting out a quad, and Yamaha has a great quad, and I’m really enjoying the YFZ450R, it really suits my style and it’s really beyond what I expected. I am super pumped to be picked up by Yamaha. It will be a different experience for me and it’s going to make it fun again, and I am really excited for the GNCC season to start.

Chris Borich will be racing on a Yamaha
YFZ450R for the 2015 GNCC Racing Season |
ATVriders.com:
After six straight GNCC Championship on the
Suzuki, is this going to be a big change for
you switching to Yamaha?
Chris
Borich:
We had the Suzuki figured out and dialed in
to where I liked it and that started the winning
streaks and championship roll. As a rider,
going to a new brand I have learned a lot,
and I have become a lot smarter about what
I need, so the change isn’t really going to
affect me, it’s just going to be like going
out there and riding an ATV, and I already
feel great on the Yamaha, so it has been an
easy transition.
ATVriders.com: During the off season you spent a lot of time riding with Chad Wienen and Johnny Gallagher. Now you are all on the same brand. Does that give you an advantage?
Chris Borich: Yeah, it’s definitely nice. Being down here in Florida and testing with them; they have some of the parts that I don’t have yet, so they have helped keep me going. I really appreciate those guys for helping me out. It’s definitely nice to be on the same brand and go out and have some fun with it, and also get the kind of support that I’ve been looking for to go out and race.

Chris Borich has been training in Florida during the winter with ATV Motocross Champion Chad Wienen and fellow GNCC Racer Johnny Gallagher |
ATVriders.com: You had another big change this year by switching to Fly Racing gear.
Chris Borich: It is great to have Fly onboard, and they stepped up and we were able to ink a deal. We had been talking with Fly for a couple of years, and we were finally able to make it happen, and I am really looking forward to working with Chris and Max at Fly.
ATVriders.com: Besides Yamaha and Fly, are there any other changes to you race program for this season?
Chris Borich: No. Everything else is pretty much the same. There may be one more sponsor coming in but that’s it. Maxxis tires is coming back with us. I can’t thank them enough. They are one of my major sponsors and without them I probably couldn’t be out here racing. HMF is also going to be back for 2015. Basically all of the same sponsors as before.

Chris Borich also made the switch to Fly Racing gear for 2015. All his previous sponsors will remain the same on his new Yamaha backed ride |
ATVriders.com:
You’ve been down here in Florida training.
What are your thoughts heading into Palatka?
Besides Johnny Gallagher, you are one of the
few guys that has raced there before.
Chris
Borich:
I
am pretty much just counting on a survival
race, but hopefully it is an endurance race.
I am hoping for a sandy whooped out course.
The last time we were there it was mud hole
after mud hole, but I am really excited for
the GNCC season to start, and I think it’s
going to be a lot of fun being on a new ride
The round one of the 2015 GNCC Racing series will kick off on March 7th in Palatka, FL where Chris Borich will make his GNCC Racing debut on the Yamaha YFZ450R as he goes for his seventh straight GNCC Pro ATV Championship.
