Tulsa,
OK (3/14/2011) –
Chase Snapp came off an incredible season in 2010
after taking the Pro-am Production championship
in the AMA ATV Motocross Championship series, now
for 2011, he has a new ride and has his goals set
high as he will be making his Pro debut.
Like many other racers, Chase Snapp found himself
struggling to find support for the 2011 season but
was lucky enough to score a deal with Can-Am and
will be joining the pro ranks for this season as
a part of Can-Am’s X-Team aboard the DS450.
We recently caught up with Chase Snapp to find out
what he’s been up to in the off season and
what his thoughts are on turning pro for 2011. Here’s
what he had to say:
ATVRiders.com: Chase, you had an excellent
year in 2010 and won the Pro-am Production championship
at the AMA ATV Motocross Championships. That was
a great accomplishment!
Chase Snapp:
Yeah, I was pretty excited about it. There was a
lot of competition and Joel Hetrick and I were battling
it out most of the year, so it just made winning
even better.

ATVRiders.com:
So how did you get started in racing?
Chase Snapp:
My brother and I used to race go carts, but I always
wanted a four-wheeler and I ended up getting one
for my birthday one year. We started out just riding
trails for the first four years and then one weekend
we went to watch a race. The next weekend I was
out there racing on my Yamaha Blaster. I didn't’t
do so well, but after that, I was hooked and it
all just kind of snowballed from there. ATVRiders.com:
Congratulations on getting your deal with Can-Am
for 2011.
Chase Snapp:
Thanks!

ATVRiders.com:
Are you pretty excited about the change?
Chase Snapp:
Yes, change is a good thing. ATVRiders.com:
Have you had much seat time on the DS450 yet?
Chase Snapp:
I have been doing a lot of riding and I am already
pretty comfortable on the quad. Of course with
it being a new machine for me, there will be lots
of testing and fine-tuning, but I think that this
is going to be a good year for me.
ATVRiders.com: There were a lot of rumors
going around that you weren't’ going to
race for 2011, was there any truth to that?
Chase Snapp:
Actually, yes it was true. I didn't’t have
a deal to race and no one was offering support,
so I thought about taking 2011 off and just see
what would happen. Then I started talking to Can-Am
and we were able to work out a deal for me to
come on board as one of their X-Team members.
I’ll be racing out of my own rig for this
year, but Can-Am is really giving me great support,
so I think it will be a good year.
