Career Highlights:
1st year of racing, I finished 19th overall. In my 2nd year,
I finished 10th Overall, and this year I finished 9th Overall.
Also, winning the Overall at Palatka FL in 2003 and 2nd at
the 12 hours ATV of America in 2004.
Future
Goals:
Smile more because women like a guy with a sense of humor.
Favorite
Racer & Why:
My Bro, Bill Ballance. He has helped take the sport to another
level and is always a contender. His knowledge of setting
up and building the best ATV is unmatched.
What
type of physical training do you do?
Riding, running, boxing, weight lifting, stretching, and fueled
eating habits
Do
you race in a Local Series? If so, tells us about it?
I usually race a few of the Mid-South Winter Harescramble
races during the off months. The races are only are only 1
½ hours long compared to 2 hour long GNCC races and
they are closer to home.
How
often do you Practice & Where?
I practice one to two times per week on the farm or at a local
track, and the Mid-South races are also used for practice.
Do
you practice with anyone?
I practice with my Bro and few friends who just love riding
Why
do you race in the GNCC Series?
It's so demanding. You need skills in motocross, hill climbing,
tree dodging, rock climbing, and mud bogging, which are only
a few of the things you will encounter during a race.
What
are some of your highlights from this season?
My 5th Overall at “The Lonestar” and 4th Overall
at “Steele Creek.” Also, the 2nd Place finish
at ATV 12 hours of America Finally, the great photos ATVriders.com
has captured of me with the girls.
Which
race this season would you like to forget?
The Final Round at "The Ironman” because I DNFed
the race, whichs wasn’t the way that I wanted to end
the season.
What
were your favorite racers this year & why?
Bill Balance because he can never be counted out due to his
consistency. Even if he is few minutes off the pace, he will
push ahead and sneak up on the leader. Also, Chris Borich
because he's hungry for a championship and it shows when he
is riding.
What
were your worst races this year & why?
“The Spartan”, “The Penton”, and “The
Patriot” because if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn’t
have any luck at all with the mud and mechanical failures
which slowed me down due to my own bad judgment
What
was the most important thing you learned this year?
Dealing with a bad race day.
Are
there any locations you wish were added or removed from the
GNCC Series?
I am glad to see Palatka, FL removed from the series!
Any
other changes you would like to see in the GNCC Series?
Radio Communication from rider to pit crew and more pit action.
What
are your winter plans?
To TRAIN! I am going to eat as much pizza, medium cooked steaks,
spaghetti, and corn dogs as possible. And TRAIN! Lasagna is
good too
Are
you excited about heading back to Texas next year?
Yes, because the terrain is much different. It's rocky.
It's demanding. It's fast.
Do
you expect more factory involvement next season?
Yes, The extra spectators and riders are making the difference.
How
many people do you have in your pit crew & names?
Two People, Jeremy Vincent and Jimmy Duff
Would
you consider racing some GNC races if they weren’t the
same weekend most of the year?
Not yet, Maybe when I can afford to build an extra quad for
motocross
