2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 Utility ATV Test Ride Review

2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 Test Ride Review
::Continued::

With the larger stator, it allows the ATV to power additional electronic components like a winch and electronic power steering. This is the first time Polaris has offered electronic power steering on its economic value line and we were glad to see that option available.

The Rock Run Recreation Area provided many types of terrain to put the all-new 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 to the test

Anyone that has ridden with electronic power steering knows how much of a difference it can make on a long day of riding. We were able to get in almost a full day of riding on the 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 Utility ATV at the Rock Run OHV Park in Patton ,PA.

The Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS performed great in the rocks and kept down arm fatigue

The trails had a nice mix of rocky terrain, water brakes, tight woods, and high speed open field sections. The EPS really shined in the tightly wooded areas were you are constantly steering back and fourth. Without EPS our arms would have been very sore after our ride, but thanks to the new optional electronic power steering, we felt we could ride for another 8 hours or more! Although the optional EPS is an additional $800 ($7499 MSRP), we feel like it is worth every penny if you plan on riding for prolonged periods of time.

Another major update you can tell at first glance is the new aggressive styling. Polaris narrowed the width of the seat and gas tank by 3.25 inches to make it more comfortable. In our opinion in some ways, we still prefer the original Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. styling because the seat wrapped around the gas tank, thus creating some padding for your thighs. With the new styling, the seat no longer wraps around leaving a void between your thighs and the plastic.

While the Polaris Sportsman 570 has more streamline styling (above left) than the Sportsman 500 (above right) with the tank being narrower, however it does sacrifice some comfort with less padding that wraps around the fenders
