Kawasaki Brute Force 750 4x4 FI Utility ATV Test Ride Review

2014 Kawasaki Teryx 800 Test Drive Review
::Continued::

Once we hit the trail we could immediately feel the difference in the power between the new 800 engine and the previous 750 model. The power delivery is more immediate and can be felt at any speed.

The Kawasaki Teryx 800 SxS now features a powerful 783cc fuel-injected engine that produces more power & torque than the Kawasaki Teryx 750

We are able to reach 45 mph on many of the trails at Hatfield McCoys, but we felt it was well capable of even greater speeds in the right conditions. Even with the bigger displacement and more power, Kawasaki surprisingly found a way to improve the fuel economy by 20%, which is great for longer drives like we experienced!

On our second day of riding we were greeted with a fresh coating of snow on the Autumn leaves, which made our drive even more scenic!

To help bring the 2014 Kawasaki Teryx to a halt, dual front 200mm disc brakes with 27mm twin-piston calipers paired with braided-stainless-steel lines were used. We never experienced any brake fading or slipping even while the brakes were wet!

The doors on the 2014 Kawasaki Teryx provide plenty of protection from the elements even when crossing through rivers

On the previous Kawasaki Teryx 750, the parking brake release lever was located down underneath the steering wheel. With the leaver being in this location, it made it difficult for driver with a four point harnesses to reach the leaver. For 2014, Kawasaki used an automotive emergency brake style hand lever located near the gear shifter. This not only made it easier to release, but Kawasaki also used an ignition cut-out system to help alert the driver that the parking brake is engaged.

Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires come standard on all Kawasaki Teryx 800 models

26” Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires wrapped around lightweight cast aluminum rims help deliver power to the round. The Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires are one of the most popular tires in the SxS market and we are glad to see them come stock on the Kawasaki Teryx 800. The heavy duty 6-ply design greatly reduces the chances of tire puncture and they provide great traction in all types of terrain.
