2015 Honda Pioneer 500 Review
2015 Honda Pioneer 500 Review
::Continued::

The cab of the 2015 Honda Pioneer 500 is roomy enough for two adults, but can be a little cozy for larger guys, and the door new door latch system on the Pioneer works great and is easy to use.

Honda Pioneer Doors
The doors can be opened easily with a turn of a knob, which is an all new latch system that works great

Also, the doors fold back flush with the body, which makes it real easy to move to the rear of the Pioneer without having to walk around the door.  Another great feature is the doors nets are actually attached to the door, so you don’t have to be messing with the safety nets everytime you use the Pioneer 500, which is a great feature.  We see that most people remove the nets because the clips breaks and they become a hassle to deal with on a daily basis, but the Pioneer 500 design doesn’t require any attention, so people should keep them installed for added safety without any hassle.

Honda Pioneer 500 Doors
The Honda Pioneer 500 comes standard with door & nets. One nice feature about the nets are that they are mounted directly to the doors & do not get in the way when getting in & out of the vehicle. The doors also fold flush to the frame, which is another nice feature

As for the Honda Pioneer 500 interior, the bench seat was very comfortable and the nonadjustable steering wheel was set at the perfect angle.  The digital display was easy to read, and the drive levers were also easily accessible.  There is a cup holder for each person as well, but the one thing we really miss in the Pioneer 500 is that there is no in dash storage. We are quite fond of having a storage compartment in the dash to keep the basics like maps, phones and other small items that you might need to access quickly. Hopefully this is something that Honda will consider including for future models. Also, we wish Honda would add an anti-cinch seat belt system, which would give some relief over bumpy terrain because the current system doesn’t have any give, so your shoulders get a work out from the seat belt.

Honda Pioneer 500 Desert
The high desert and woods of Southern California offered a great area to truly test the 2015 Honda Pioneer 500

The 2015 Honda Pioneer 500 comes in several colors; Red, Olive, Yellow, and Honda Phantom Camo. The machine also comes with a limited 1-year transferable warranty. The MSRP of the Honda Pioneer 500 is $8499.00, which is very affordable compared to many SxS vehicles.

Maxxis Tires
24 Inch Maxxis Tires come standard on the Honda Pioneer 500 which work well in a variety of terrain, and we didn't have any issues with flats

Overall we think the Honda Pioneer 500 definitely has a niche in the SxS market. The compact size makes it ideal for trail riding and its automotive driving style makes it a great alternative for anyone who does not feel comfortable on a regular ATV. The Pioneer 500 is well suited for working on a farm but it is also very fun for cruising the trails. It is a well-built machine that truly is compact, affordable and fun.
