Can-Am had FOX on hand to adjust the suspension for us if need be, but I have been tuning shocks for years and was confident in my ability. After we tuned the suspension in we headed over to Oldsmobile Hill, where we raced up and down it. The new Can-am Maverick Turbo had enough power to not only pull us to the top very quickly but we were able to have enough speed to jump at the top. We spent the rest of the afternoon running all around the dunes taking turns driving the unit and getting a feel for it.

After we returned to camp we all grabbed dinner and headed out for a night ride. We raced all around the dunes snaking our way around until we ended up at Oldsmobile Hill yet again only this time it was the whole crew. I sure you can imagine what happened next. Yep you guessed it! We started drag racing to the top, and man were we able to tell that our suspension was working great. We flew past everyone we raced even with 2 of us in the Can-Am Maverick. It didn’t matter who we raced or if we gave them a head start we would blow by them and jump the top of the hill!

Everyone wanted to know what we did to make our Can-Am Maverick so fast. We tuned the suspension, which allowed us to maximize traction over the sand whoops that are at the bottom of the hill. That was the key to winning that race. We were able to carry a greater amount of speed over the whoops and still maintain control while everyone else had to back out of the throttle. Everyone was running stock headlights, which were a little weak for my liking, but I would recommend adding an accessory light bar and dunes at night will be a wonderland of fun!
The next day we spent time jumping and trying different maneuvers to see what the machine was capable of, and Can-Am SxS Racers, Derek Murray and David Martinez, came along with us to launch the Can-Am Maverick.

Afterwards, we hooked up again with Brian and Melissa Fisher and worked with him on the filming of an upcoming Fishers ATV World show spotlighting the Can-Am Maverick Turbo. We got the chance to rat race around the dunes with him and talk about our thoughts on the machine. We also planned out a ride to China Wall the next day to do some more filming.
