There are two-cup holders in the center console,
which work well at keeping your drinks from flying
out when driving over rough terrain. Also, the passenger
hand hold is well placed and out of the way, and the
Commander features a large glove box, which is where
the cable controller for the winch is located.

The
lights, 4wd, sport mode switch are very
accessible in the center of the dash along
with a 12 volt outlet

The Can-Am Commander offers a large glove box
along with a comfortable hand hold for the passenger |

The door nets use a seat belt style locking system for easy use |
The Can-Am Commander also has an easy to operate door net safety system, which utilizes a seat belt style locking system, so you can use one hand to easily enter and exit the vehicle.
With the locking system tucked to the inside of the front fender, the buckle stays clean and dry through the mud and water, which kept our hands from getting muddy or wet when getting in and out of the Commander.

A large cargo box under the bed can carry an impressive 200 lb |
The
400 lb capacity tilt bed allowing for easy dumping
of cargo |
One thing unique to the Can-Am Commander is its dual level cargo box with a total hauling capacity of 600lbs. No other SxS on the market has this feature, and it isn’t just a gimmick, the lower storage box is a great addition to the standard cargo bed, and we have used it numerous times to haul camera gear and tools.

We used the tilting cargo bed for moving firewood. We were also able to store a small chainsaw in the lower cargo box underneath the bed
|
We have used the Commander to make multiple trips
to the woods for firewood. We were able to tuck a
small chainsaw in the lower cargo box below the bed
as we began to fill up the bed full of wood at the
same time!. Also, Can-Am offers an optional trunk
lock, so you can store some valuable in the cargo
box, so they are out of sight and locked up.
The tilt bed works great for quickly unloading your
cargo, but you also want to make sure you don’t
forget you are tilting what is also in the under bed
cargo storage, so you don’t tip over your chain
saw or anything else that could be damaged in the
tilt position.

Now
we can't wait to hit the woods for some deer
hunting with Josh Creamer |
For the past year, the Can-am Commander 1000 XT hasn’t let us down, and we feel the Commander is a great all around SxS vehicle and the addition of power steering makes it even more complete, and now in a just a couple weeks, we will be putting our final miles on the XT during our deer hunt, and hopefully we will find out how well a deer fits in the cargo bed.
