Primm, NV (10/23/2015) – Walker Evans Racing/ Maxxis’ Mitch Guthrie Jr finishes out the 2015 WORCS Racing season with the Pro UTV Win at Round 9. H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma finished in the second spot followed by Mystik Lubricant’s Mickey Thomas. Mike Gardner drove RJ Anderson’s Polaris RZR to a fourth-place finish ahead of Beau Baron. Ryan Piplic’s sixth-place finish handed him the 2015 WORCS Pro Side by Side Championship.

Mitch Guthrie Jr took the lead on the third lap and then held off Haagsma and Thomas as the trio battled throughout the race to secure the WORCS season finale win. Guthrie Jr plans to compete full time in the Best in the Desert Series next year, so the WORCS series will be losing one of the top UTV racers in the series.

“It was a fun race with Beau and David,” said Guthrie Jr. “I got in third at the start. We were all giving it our all. After a couple laps, I got past them and never looked back. This course was a lot of fun and I had a good time racing everyone. We’re moving on to Best in the Desert next year, so I’m glad to leave WORCS with a win.

“It was a good season,” added Guthrie Jr. “I had a couple of DNFs. Those definitely were tough. We had to come back from that, and I ended up fourth for the year with three wins. I’m happy I got some wins this year.”

David Haagsma said he was too conservative in the Pro UTV race, and he came up short on time in the end and settled for second.

“I paced myself too much today and that was a mistake,” said Haagsma. “I tried to reel in Guthrie Jr, but we got in some lappers and I just ran out of time. I finished second today and second in the championship. The car was great; I just didn’t push quite hard enough.”
