H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron had a mid-pack start on his Honda 450R; he was in fourth but quickly passed to third by the second corner. The defending champ charged to catch the leader. The dust made conditions difficult and it took Baron until lap four to overtake the second spot.

“I worked hard to catch Robbie Mitchell (who was in second). The dust was so brutal everywhere but on the motocross track that I had a hard time getting up to him. Eventually, I put a good pass on him on the motocross track. It was tricky, I had to try a few times, but finally got him,” regarded Baron.
