After
temps reached the 90's on Friday in Lake
Havasu, Arizona , the typical Arizona warmth
was replaced with high winds & temps
in the 50's by Sunday in the valley, but
above 3,000 ft in elevation it was below
freezing and Arizona was receiving a rare
March snowstorm, but fortunately for the
WORCS ATV racers, the rain held off for
most of the day on Sunday to the delight
of the fans & racers
|
Crazy Horse MX in Lake Havasu was the hosting
facility for this round. The course is known as
one of the roughest tracks the WORCS race schedule;
and this year it did not disappoint. The lagoon
jump was more technical than ever with a kicker
bump before the big jump, which prompted nearly
all the racers besides the pros to by-pass the
jump.

#8 Robbie Mitchell launches over the lagoon
jump, which is a fan favorite at the Crazy
Horse WORCS Race |
With heavy rain moving in the night before the
race, the track was in great condition for Sunday’s
race and with temps only in the 50’s, racers
couldn’t have asked for better weather to
take on the roughest track of the year because
it is normally in the 90’s on race day.
Due to the rough conditions, the race saw several
different leaders throughout the 105 minute long
race, however, the rough desert terrain is where
Josh Frederick calls home and it showed as he
charged his way to his second straight win of
the season..

Maxxis'
#10 Mike Cafro grabbed the Pro ATV Holeshot
by edging out Yamaha's #94 Dustin Nelson
& Can-Am's #49 Dillon Zimmerman |

DWT's #2 Josh Frederick challenged #422
David Haagsma for 2 laps before taking over
the lead in lap 9 |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick was inside
the top five on the dead engine start and quickly
worked his way into the number three spot. In the
second lap of the race Frederick recorded the fastest
lap time of the race with a time of 06:00.315, and
his charge was far from over as he continued his
charge to the front, and with both Beau Baron and
Robbie Mitchell running into issues, Frederick’s
quickly found himself battling for the lead with
H&M Motorsport’s David Haagma. After a
couple of laps chasing after Haasgma, Frederick
made his move to take over the lead in lap nine.
