WORCS Racing - Round
1 - Glen Helen MX - Pro ATV Race Report
Maxxis' Beau Baron Wins,
Josh Frederick & David Haagsma Podium
Devore, CA - It was a somewhat
wet start to the 2012 WORCS ATV racing season, and
Maxxis / H&M Motorsport’s Beau Baron was
up to the challenge as he kicked the year with the
round one win over Can-Am / Motoworks’ Josh
Frederick, who finished in a very close second,
while Baron’s teammate, David Haagsma took
his first-ever WORCS pro ATV podium finish in third.

2011
WORCS Pro ATV Champion, Jeremie Warnia returned
home to France for 2012 to compete for the
2012 European Championship for Can-Am /
Motoworks |
The 2012 WORCS pro ATV lineup was filled with many
familiar names returning for another run at the
championship, but one big name missing from the
line-up was reigning 2011 WORCS champion, #1 Jeremie
Warnia, who made his return to home to France to
compete for the European Quadcross Champion on his
Can-Am / Motoworks’ DS450, but hopefully we
may see him at atleast one round this year. Despite
Warnia returning to Europe, the Can-Am / Motoworks
team is back as strong as ever with multi-time champion,
#2 Josh Frederick, and #49 Dillon Zimmerman returning
to the team for 2012. Josh Frederick will also be
competing in the SxS race on Saturday in the Can-Am
Commander.

Former WORCS pro ATV champ, #549 Beau Baron has
teamed up with David Haagsma for the 2012 season
to race with the Maxxis / H&M Motorsport’s
team, and the pair kicked off their racing season
the week prior with a 1-2 finish at the Soboba
GP, so they are both excited about the start of
the WORCS racing season. “We have a really
solid program in place and I think this is going
to be a good season for us,” stated Baron,
whose words would ring very true at the end of
the day.

Yamaha's
#417 Josh Row is back in action for 2012
after shoulder surgery that sidelined him
near the end of last season |
Yamaha / Golden West Cycles’ #94 Dustin
Nelson is joined once again by #417 Josh Row who
has fully recovered from shoulder surgery that
ended his season early in 2011. Last season, Nelson
finished fourth in points with a season finale
win on his YFZ450R, and he is looking to make
a run for the championship in 2012. Josh Row,
who rode impressively despite his injuries last
year, is very excited to get back on the track
and try for a top five finish.
“It’s great to be back. I’m
anxious to see how my shoulders will hold up.
I did pretty well last season and I hope I can
do even better this year. We have a really good
program, so I think I will do well,” said
Row.
Utah native, #8 Robbie Mitchell is returning
to the series aboard his LMR’s Honda TRX
450R. Mitchell has high expectations for the season
and with his mechanic David Lindsey by his side,
he could be a regular contender for the podium.

increased support from LMR's David Lindsey |
#10
Mike Cafro has joined on with the Pro ATV
Store team for 2012 & he remains on
the Honda TRX 450R |
Veteran racer, MCR Racing’s #10 Mike Cafro
also returned to the series, with new program
aboard his Pro ATV Store Honda. Cafro has been
a consistent figure in the series for years and
has no intensions of giving it up anytime soon.
Unfortunately, there are several top racers missing
from the line-up in 2012, including east coast
racer, Jarrod McClure, who plans on focusing his
attention on the GNCC series this year. Also,
Justin Waters and John Shafe, who have been regulars
in the series for many years, were missing from
the line-up, but Waters still plans on racing
a few events this year
