WORCS Racing - Round
4 - Cahuilla Creek - Amatuer ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Sunday morning the racers woke up to a heavy
mist and cloud cover. The sun began to peek through
just in time for staging. The Pro-AM Class quickly
staged after the pro gate dropped.
The 30-second board was up and before you knew
it, the Pro-AM’s were off. Cody Mitchell
had the hole shot with the field close on his
back bumper. Mitchell would hold onto the lead
until the pro section. On his first visit to the
rock pro section, Mitchell rolled the rocks and
found out the hard way that jumping it was the
way to go taking him from first to last. With
the lead changing to D.J. Noerr first, Fuller
second, Thomas third, and Johnson fourth.

The Pro section would prove to be tough, keeping
the Pro-AM riders on their toes. Keith Johnson
would fall victim to it on the second lap, "It
was the best Pro section yet, even though I had
my own issues with how technical it was"
Johnson commented. He would end up with the Hard
Charging Award from Rocky Mountain, at the end
of the day coming from 12th to finish on the box
in 3rd.
Collins Webster wound up finishing in the 2nd
position after a mid pack start of 8th. “I
started to make my way to the front, but I got
hung up with a few riders and was running out
of time. The leader had a minute lead and by the
end of the race I had him within 15 seconds, but
I ran out of time,” commented Webster.

Garrin Fuller would come back after sitting out
the last round due to an injury. He took over
the lead on the 2nd lap and never looked back.
He rode his own race and at the end of the day
finished on the top box! He was more than excited
to be on the one again, “My race went really
well I got into first on the 2nd lap and put my
head down and charged! My Duncan prepped quad
was working better than ever and I couldn’t
be any happier. All of this after a Production
A win, and a hard crash in Open A,” said
Fuller.
