WORCS Racing - Round
3 - Crazy Horse GP - Pro ATV Race Report
Can-Am's Jeremie Warnia &
Josh Frederick Goes 1-2 followed by Dustin Nelson
Lake Havasu, AZ - Can-Am/Motoworks’
Jeremie Warnia and Josh Frederick went one and two
after an intense battle to the checkered flag at
round three of the 2011 WORCS Racing Series, while
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson made his return the
Podium with a third place finish.
The scenic Crazy Horse Campground was the hosting
facility in Lake Havasu, Arizona, which is located
right along the lake, and once again the famous
lagoon jump was part of the course layout with
a slower by-pass lane, but unlike years past,
the leap wasn’t as much of a challenge with
a longer run to build up speed to clear the gap,
which had the entire pro class taking the leap,
lap after lap.

Jump during the Pro Practice lap |
On the Sunday, the Pro ATV racers were treated
to pleasant weather with temps in the seventies,
but track was anything isn’t but pleasant
by the end of the race weekend with its deep power
robbing sand ruts and whoops, which played havoc
on the racers and their quads with numerous chain
and shock failures during the 1.5 hour Pro and
Pro-Am main event on Sunday.

The sand specialist, Can-Am/Motoworks’
Jeremie Warnia was up to the challenge as he came
off the line in the second spot behind Jarrod
McClure in the holeshot and about halfway through
the motocross portion of the track, Warnia took
over the lead. Warnia was running fast and strong
as usual, but he wasn’t alone with his teammate
Josh Frederick catching up to Warnia by the midway
point of the race and applying the pressure.
Warnia was overtaken by Frederick in the eighth
lap, but he fought back and reclaimed the lead
again in the next lap. Warnia held the lead ,but
Frederick was never far off and after the white
flag was waved, it was all out war between the
teammates as they battled back and forth for the
lead, but Frenchy never gave up and took the round
three win, which extends Warnia’s points
lead over reigning champion, Josh Frederick, to
ten points.

The
battle was on between teammate's #62 Jeremie
Warnia & #1 Josh Frederick for the lead
in the final laps as the pair battled side
by side for the lead, but in the end, Warnia
held the lead spot for the win with Frederick's
less than 3 seconds behind Warnia in the
second spot for a 1-2 finish for the Can-Am
/ Motoworks' team |
“I had a very good race. I felt good and
I am happy to take another win!” exclaimed
Warnia, who was feeling much better than after
round two when he was ill.
