Jeremie Warnia Wins
Honolulu Hills WORCS Race Opener
Yamaha's Dustin Nelson &
Motowork's Josh Frederick Podium
Taft, CA - Can-Am/Motoworks’
Jeremie Warnia topped the podium for round one of
the 2011 WORCS series where he was joined by Dustin
Nelson and Josh Frederick.
Honolulu Hills was the hosting facility where
perfect weather and good track conditions greeted
racers for what could become one of the most interesting
seasons in WORCS history.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia was looking
incredibly fast as he shot off the start in second
place behind Josh Creamer. The French racer wasted
no time as he began to pressure Creamer right
away and took the lead away shortly into the first
lap. From there Warnia put a nice gap between
him and the rest of the pack to take the first
win of the season. “I am very happy to give
my team the first win. I hope I can win more and
maybe get a championship!” exclaimed Warnia.
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson came on strong as
he charged his way off the line in third and by
the second lap he made the pass on Josh Creamer
to take over second place. Nelson was able to
hold off a late charge from Josh Frederick and
claim the second spot on the pro podium.
Defending pro champion, Josh Frederick started
out in the top five off the start and made his
way up to third by the end of the second lap but
he was unable to pressure Dustin Nelson into making
a mistake and would have to settle for third.
H-Bomb Racing’s Josh Creamer made an impressive
WORCS debut as he grabbed the pro holeshot, but
Creamer would fall back to finish in fourth place
overall.
The battle between Can-Am/Motoworks’ Dillon
Zimmerman and Yamaha’s Josh Row picked up
right where it left off last season with the two
racers battling tire to tire for most of the race
with Zimmerman coming out in the number five spot,
leaving Row to settle for sixth.
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron ran into trouble
off the start when his twist throttle was not
working. Baron had to pit immediately to fix the
problem, and got back out on the track just ahead
of the Pro-am class. Baron put in an amazing effort
and worked is way into the number seven spot before
reaching the checkered flag.
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s David Haagsma hung on
for a solid eight place while Yokely Racing’s
Jarrod McClure finished ninth. John Shafe would
put in a solid run to round out the top ten for
the first race of the season.
