Josh Frederick made his 1st Podium appearance
since breaking his leg in May as he makes
his return to 100% |
Can-Am Motoworks’ star rider Josh Frederick
appeared to be back in top shape this weekend. Josh
was fourth off the line and worked his way up to
second by the third lap, but fell back to third
after only two more laps. Frederick would cross
the finish line in a respectable third place, which
has him in second place in the points race with
147 points.
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson, who had grabbed
the holeshot, rode strong, but an encounter with
Can-Am’s John Natalie, sent him back to
fourth, where he would stay all the way to the
finish line.

John
Natalie jr rounded out the Top 5 in his
WORCS debut with his new Motoworks Team
& amazingly he did it with a few broken
ribs after colliding with Doug Eichner on
Friday during practice |
Can-Am’s John Natalie made an appearance
at this round, but was not quite up to par. During
practice on Saturday, Natalie and Polaris’s
Doug Eichner were involved in a brutal head on,
mid-air crash that left both riders with injuries.
Eichner was taken to the hospital with internal
injuries and a severely broken arm. Fortunately,
Eichner was released from the hospital a few days
later, but he will be sidelined from racing for
the rest of the season.
Natalie, who got the better end of it, was left
with four broken ribs and an injured shoulder.
Not one to give up easy, Natalie still raced on
Sunday and was able to keep up to round out the
top five. “I was taped up pretty good because
of my ribs and that made it a little hard for
me to breath so I didn’t do as well as I
would have liked,” said Natalie.

MCR's
Josh Row remains consistent as he takes
home a 6th place finish |
MCR’s Josh Row came on strong again this round.
Row was in eighth off the line and kept his cool,
despite the heat, and worked his way into the number
six position early in the race and would hold that
spot all the way to the checkered flag. John Shafe
came up from a top ten start to finish his day in
seventh. DATS Kawasaki rider Robbie Mitchell rode
consistently to take home an eighth place finish,
with Ryan Piplic claiming ninth and Yamaha backed
Justin Waters would round out the top ten.
Jarrod McClure made the trek out from PA once
again, but would end his day early when his motor
let go after only three laps. Kawasaki’s
Keith Little also ventured out to the west coast
for round seven, but Little would also run into
problems at the mid way point.
