Italian Nicola Montalbini would rocket out of the gate for the second moto to secure the holeshot but would later fall back to 2nd place behind Vlaeymans
The Holeshot of the second moto was for Nicola Montalbini. The Italian pulled his Honda to the front and grabbed the lead. He was followed closely by Warnia, Joe Maessen and Paul Holmes. Jeremie Warnia took over the lead form Montalbini in the second round. A lap later, Paul Holmes moved himself into the third spot. Jan Vlaeymans corrected his bad start and challenged Holmes quickly. The three riders rode inches from each other. Paul Holmes took the second place over from Montalbini.

Unfortunately for Holmes, Jeremie Warnia suffered from mechanical failure. He crashed into the Can Am on a table top at the far backside of the track. His engine didn’t stall and dragged him into the side of the track. Montalbini and Vlaeymans took this opportunity and created a gap with the rest of the pack. Joe Maessen Mark Watson and Davy De Cuyper also benefited from the incident and climbed a spot and entered the top 5.
